Confirmed: Bell getting Android Samsung Galaxy

A little confirmation is always a good thing… especially when it has to do with Samsung and Bell’s first Android device.

A poster now in Bell locations with the title “Innovation beyond your Imagination” has 3 devices on it: Samsung Galaxy with a nice Android logo, Omnia II and the Impact.

Both the Omnia II and Impact have already launched on Bell’s new HSPA network and we knew from the Reclaim launch that speculations were that the Galaxy was headed to Bell. A poster gives confirmation but a date is still in question. Max Karlin of Samsung Canada gave us a quick overview of the Galaxy which can be seen here. I didn’t put a watermark on the poster as it’s already a bit blurry but it states:

First Linux Mobile OS Device by Samsung

Linux Mobile OS full touch phone, the first phone of this kind seems to be announced in near future. The phone will be announced under Vodafone and comes from LiMo foundation. You can see its leaked images above.

There is no detail info comes with this news. At least we know that this latest Samsung device will be featured with an OLED touchscreen along with haptic feedback. About the remaining features are 8Mpx camera and the capability to access the coming service of Vodafone People.

As for the Vodafone People, this is a kind of service that features things such as location based service plus access to social network and active contacts. (more…)

T-Mobile and Sprint Unveil Samsung Android Phone

Finally the rumour has been confirmed. Said a Samsung executive in Las Vegas at 2009 CTIA Wireless show, Sprint and T-Mobile will unveil 1st Samsung Android in USA in near future.

Another more detail confirmation comes from Samsung executive vice president of global product strategy for mobile, Dr. Won-Pyo Hong. He said that two Android devices will be launched by Samsung in 2009. The 1st Android of Samsung will be launched in June for Europe. He also said that US customers will get their first Android in this year’s second half. The realization of Samsung Android phone rumor has been waited by millions users.

More Android and LiMo based Smartphones from Samsung this Year

It seems that we will see more Android and  LiMo Linux based smartphone from Samsung this year. Accourding to Reuters, One of the largest managers of Samsung Won-Pyo Hong said that Samsung is preparing at least three Android-smartphone, as well as a device based on the LiMo Linux.

The decision on what the market will first be released mobile devices running Android and LiMo, the company Samsung has not yet been adopted. However, Won-Pyo Hong expressed his confidence that by the end of 2009, new Linux-smartphone Samsung to appear in both Europe and the USA.

Samsung Join Android Bandwagon Next Year

Samsung Finally join Android gang by unveil their Android phone version on Q2 2009 in North America, and maybe showed up in Asia region too.

Samsung is currently on progress developing the competitor of Symbian and iPhone and predicted to launch it for American’s Sprint Nextel and T-Mobile. The phone is most likely based on touchscreen form factor used by Omnia and Instinct.

Currently, T-Mobile G1is the only product using Android, but 2009 will be exciting to be waited since there will be at least 3 other manufacturers have announced its commitment for Android. The first is Kogan Agora, the next is Huawei, and the last is Samsung. Sony Ericsson also confirmed join the bandwagon on 2009.
