E1107 Crest Solar, the Cheap Phone of Samsung

After Sony Ericsson had announced their eco friendly phones under GreenHeart series some days ago, now the time for Samsung to participate in the world issue. Samsung offers their solar powered phone to us.

The first commercial solar powered phone of Sammy is not the Blue Earth, but turns out to be Samsung E1107 Crest Solar. As the name suggests, this phone is surely one of those eco friendly devices, at least when we see its solar panel. The solar panel is located at the back part of E1107 Crest Solar.

The solar panel will give contribution to the phone power. The user will get 5 – 10 minutes of xtra talk time for a hour under the sun.

Coming back to the E1100 model in its design, this low end phone brings its highlighted features as following:

* Dual-band GSM (900/1800 MHz)
* Mobile Tracker
* 1.52 inch CSTN display (128 x 128 pxs and 65,000 colors)
* FM Radio
* Built-in flashlight
* MP3 ringtones

E1107 will be available in Europe, America Latin as well as Soutwest and Southeast Asian in June 2009. As for India customers, they can get the unlocked E1107 for $59 and this phone is called Samsung Solar Guru in this country.
